7th May - Google Sketchup

So there were less people last week due to the Spring Concert. But for those who were there, your houses were great.

This Monday there is a Sports Day, so I am not sure how many there will be, but Ill be there after school.

This week we will be spending more time on your house, adding a porch, terrace and coloring it in with real looking bricks.









We will be working on the 3rd + 4th tutorials, "Start Drawing part 2 + 3"

Where are the Sketchup Tutorials?

To help you on your discovery of Google Sketchup there will be self paced tutorials in your MSCC folder.

Where is this folder I hear you say?







To find them, open “My Computer”, then you will see your MSCC folder. Inside you will find a folder called “Sketchup 6”, and inside are the tutorials. You also have links to the MSCC website and our Blog.








This week we will be looking at the first 2 tutorials, "Intro into Sketchup" and "Start Drawing part 1"

30th April - Google Sketchup

So today is the beginning of our new project. The program you will be using is called Google Sketchup. Google Sketchup is a powerful tool for creating, viewing, and modifying 3D ideas quickly and easily.

To get started, create a shortcut of Google Sketchup on your desktop. Now we can begin!!

By the end of today’s session, hopefully you would have created the following:

1) A rectangle/square abstract art sculpture.






2) A basic house shape.









Remember to save your work each time, save the first one as “Art” and the second as “House 1”

So the first Monday of the club (23th April) will be the last week we will work on the calendars. So make sure that we look at them together, you will have a couple of weeks to complete it at home, if you need the extra time.

I need 12 people to design a picture, so that each month there will be a picture designed by YOU. Tomorrow we will be picking out who will be designing which month.

Whats happening this week!!

Monday 29th January

So far we have experimented with the tools available in Paint.net and have been using layers to create the final image. This week we will learning how to use the tools CLONE and MAGIC WAND and how to create gradients.

Monday 15th January

So I hope you are all ready for the Club tomorrow.
Just remember to bring a pen or pencil and something to write on.

This term we will be using the program Paint.net to modify and create images. Each week I will have a challenge for you all to try and complete. The more you successfully finish the better you will know how to use the program and the more chance you will to win a prize.

Computer Club in the Spring Term.

Hi everyone.

Well I hope you have all had a good time over the holidays and are ready to start the computer club this term. There will be no club on the 8th January but will officially start 15th January at16h30.


This term we will be working with a program called Paint.net, we will be creating logos, modifying photos, designing posters and hopefully a calendar.

I will be handing out a newsletter at the beginning of the week explaining more about what we will be doing.

You will also as always have time to surf the web, and play some new exciting games.

Nils (who won the 20 euro Fnac voucher) for achiving the most points overall in the set game each week.

And the best effort prize went to William for his excellent Blog, good updates, including images and text!
